Art is not what you see, but what you make others see

Located in the center of Hokkaido, House M, designed by Jun Igarashi, is a minimalist beauty with clean, streamlined elements throughout its interior and exterior. There is an exhilaration of simple, modern elements that define the home’s unique characteristics, including the way in which the architect separated the space to increase privacy.
The general palette of materials, although basic, is suitable for the type of atmosphere it creates. I appreciate how the architect tried to create an identity of solitude and peace, almost to an extreme. The hallway settles as the interior’s spine to the various private spaces accommodating the main living areas.
Judging from the pictures, the space has a cold ambiance that is void and untouched. However, the skylights instill a sense of uninhibited freedom and deliberate isolation. I might need a sofa or bed to sleep on before I would want to live here, but the sense of peace I would find in this home would be more than enough.
